LUMBERJACK

RESOURCE CONSERVATION & DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, INC.

Serving Florence, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Menominee, Oconto,

Oneida, Shawano & Vilas Counties in Northeast Wisconsin, U.S.A.

From the year 2012 until Spring, 2017, under a grant from the Wisconsin DNR, Lincoln, Langlade & Forest Counties Land and Water Departments partnered with Lumberjack RC&D to fund an Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Coordinator.   The coordinator worked within the three counties to identify,  respond, monitor, contain and control AIS.  The coordinator was also responsible for education and outreach, reaching thousands each year to help spread the word about the threat of aquatic invasive species.  Unfortunately the grant program is highly competitive and the Lumberjack Tri-County AIS Coordinator grant proposal was denied for 2017.  We plan to apply again for 2018 funding.  This does not mean all the services and projects are going away.  We've made many partnerships over the years and those partners will work to fill gaps and continue some projects.  In the meantime, please contact the Lumberjack Office for AIS questions and concerns and we'll put you in touch with the right person for your area.  715.369.9886 or email tracybeckman.lumberjack@frontier.com.
